Our Mission

The Foundation’s mission is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ as expressed in the various programs and facilities of CHRISTUS Health and the communities they serve.

Our Vision

The Vision of CHRISTUS Health, a Catholic, faith-based ministry, and its CHRISTUS Health Foundation (Foundation) is to be a leader and advocate in creating exemplary health care services, processes, and structures that improve the health of individuals and of local and global communities so all may experience God’s healing presence and love.

Creating healthy communities is a core driving strategy for CHRISTUS Health and the Foundation. We are committed to advocating for systemic changes to improve the health of our communities.

We recognize that each community is unique, with distinct cultures and resources; thus, each community must create its own healthy community vision. CHRISTUS Health and its Foundation are committed to working with community-led partnerships in all the communities we serve in order to achieve measurable, sustainable improvements in well-being. This commitment is a reflection of our conviction about optimum health.

Values & Purpose

The Foundation holds the following five values in highest esteem:

  • Dignity:
Respect for the worth of every person with special concern for the poor and underserved.
  • Integrity:
Honesty, justice, and consistency in all relationships.
  • Excellence:
High standards of service and performance.
  • Compassion:
Service in a spirit of empathy, love, and concern.
  • Stewardship:
Wise and just use of talents and resources in a collaborative manner.

The Foundation is committed to supporting internal CHRISTUS facilities and programs, as well as extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ beyond our acute care facilities and into our communities. The intent of the Foundation is to secure and administer resources in support of system-wide and community-based programs involving CHRISTUS facilities and other not-for-profit agencies and groups whose vision, mission and goals are consistent with CHRISTUS Health’s mission, values and philosophy of a healthy community. We believe that by working together, we can make a profound difference in the quality of people’s lives and create sustainable health in our communities.
